what a cool ride, lots of advice I see. I am sure you will get this baby right done to a tasty look. Good luck with the project, it is sweet.

I had a guy from Africa ask if my Fleetline was a Zephyr. Figured then it was "In".
What are those back rims? (I don't think I could change a tire with them, given my lowered stance.)

  5. rear rims are factory 15x7's off a full size late 70's GM like an Impala with 225-75-15 tire,...no problem on mine, I liked the front rake..

    That's a great look.

I do remember, they looked like ass back then too..

  9. It is O.K. you do not like 59 Caddy taillights the but many of the guys doing the bashing act like it never happened.
I have heard several times "No one used those, back then. It is just the young guys who think they know what was done."
The best was when my dad (almost 70) jumped a guy and said "I remember them being used, but back then I was reading Hot Rod, pumping gas, cleaning parts and building cars not just driving my parent's car!"

I don't like every custom/hot rod trick that happened back then, nor do I think I know everything about every vintage hot rod or custom.
But I do consider myself a student of history be it car or general, and that history needs to be respected and persevered.

Since I started hijacking this I feel it is my duty bring it to an end and get back to the build.

A while back I remember your car at The Frame Ups’ open house in the spring, was a nice shakedown event for our group. They put out some nice rides.

If you are going to change the windshield, go with a 50 olds ,it's one piece and a direct fit.
Like your car, keep after it.

Thanks! I’ve thought about that windshield. But I really like the split window. That’s what attracted me to the 49-52 chevys.

Finally removed a couple of the eye sores. That front end looks so much better.

Thank you sir. I love this car.no flames on the hood. Has several rows of louvers and someone did peaks between the louvers. The hood isn’t in that great of shape and might get replaced with another one (louvers will be added to the new one of course)

I remember in the early 60's watching my friends older brother soldering soup cans into the rear fenders of a 50 Chev convertible, so he could sink 59 Cad tail lights into them. So yes it was not uncommon to see then. And they looked great when he was finished. :)

Replaced the gas tank tonight and had a couple extra hours to mess around with it. Finally got rid of the red wheels. Black was the only paint I had laying around.

I like that idea. A guy I know builds them. So that might be an option later on.
