PROGRESS!!!!!!!! The '32 Heavy arrived home from Kohler Kustom, spindle arms were dropped to match. The '40 pin is in there because it is all I had. Last photo on the chip, I'll post more tomorrow. Bob

 

After missing your progress for years while playing with Agent Orange, I see that at least your still going forward, at least it looks that way if you read all the pages at one sitting and do not look at the dates..

I get sidetracked easily Larry. Dropping the '32 Heavy off to Kohler Kuston at Hershey was one of my smartest moves, next deal is sending off my backing plates for drilling. I just might have a finished front end sitting in the corner. Spent some time on the cowl, once that is done and in primer I can move on to the sub rails. I'd really like to have a finished body in primer. Bob

 

Bob, just to confirm, are you talking about the roadster or the sedan? JW

 

Next thing you know you'll be ready for wiring.

I started filing an hour ago, I really like the look of the original forging marks, but not the dings and shackle wear marks, then there are the rust pits on the inner web. I'm going to pass on drilling it, I think. Right now in my mind I have the chassis painted in semi gloss chassis black. Body in a real bright Mini Cooper Red. Bob

 

Not really Roadster progress, but it was odd to have all four project chassis this close together. The '32 for the Roadster, T chassis for the Bobtail Speedster, '39 Ford pickup, and the '28 that is for my Grandson's chassis build, it is under the Steelback to help line up the cowl. I'll post an after shot of all the clean up, all in all it was a good day. Bob

 

I have been putting off the '30 coupe's wiring for months...
made my own harness 12 years ago... only 9 colors... taped baggies at all ends to keep the critters off the labels.... dragged it out... installed it... half the labels had dried, slid off most of the wire's ends...
removed it... bought a basic 12 cir... tested and relabeled the front and rear of the old... today i'm building the mounting bracket, mounting it with the harness, running the new wires to where they go...
buddies have offered help when I get that far into it...

 

Nice to know some people are brave enough to do that. I won't live long enough to worry about it on my projects. Bob

Yesterday was the 35th anniversary of my Dad passing away, and I'm now as old as he was on that day. He was driving the '61 Ford when I first spotted the '30 Roadster body back in 1962. I still have his '31 Roadster, may try to get it running this winter. Bob

 

I know how you feel, Bob. I sometimes feel guilty, I have now lived 4 years longer then my Father. He died within a month of retiring and I have been retired for 2 1/2 years and done lots of stuff he dreamed of doing. I wish he was here to see his great grandkids. See you in a couple weeks.

 

I know the feeling my dad past early as well . 2 years after my Mom. My Dad,s first early SS check seat on his desk Un- cashed when he past on . I'm his age now !

 

That body is mint...only 32 years young!

 

I've got to get back to it and get the cowl in primer, install the Brookville side panels and fit the door hinges. A '32 cowl vent is in the plan as well.

 

Five months since my last update, sold the original '32 Rails and all the related parts except for the '37 X member. Needed some money, and realized there was more work than I wanted to do on them, new J&W rails in the fall will be fine. R&L Carriers are taking them to Texas. I'm happy.

 

I've been collecting parts for my 32 tudor for nine and a half years now, I hope to get back to building it next month. "It's not how fast you build it, it's the fun you have doing it."

 

Rails arrived in Texas, new owner is happy and posted positive feedback. I can now move on to another part of the build. Bob

 

I remember from a previous thread you wanted to drive the sedan to you 50 th High School reunion but I see the car wasn't finished, did you go anyway? HRP

 

I should have marked my 50th High School Reunion on the calendar, got reminded of it the day of the reunion. Wonder if I missed anything?

Just posting this photo because the backing plate scoops, Buick drums and wheels fit perfectly. Wonder who made them?

 

I have a set of those for the 39 48 brakes. I need the mesh now that I see yours. Looks good.
