Great choice for a kustom. I am going the same way with mine. I have the eastern auto supply chrome dash piece on my ride . I do know that early ford parts in San Dimas California has two of the chrome dash trims for sale. I looked at them personally and they are eastern auto supply stock

Very cool and different chopped 4dr, don't see the lack of paint as old style more a recent trend treatment. Perhaps a work in process? I realize the sculpture was a gift but the application here interrupts the flow. I really like chopped four doors and you executed this nicely.

I love the odd stuff! Chrome looks great!
Unmolested Flathead six? Get milling (head), chopping (flywheel), and grinding (cam)!

Your '36 Ford coupe looks fantastic. The trunk lid is similar to my '35 Plymouth coupe. Difficult to get things in and out. I have to be very, very careful not to scratch the surrounding paint.

  23. Anybody know what this paint is, brand, custom mix, or what, I love it.

  24. Looks like flat black with a blue light reflecting off it.

Try Hot Rod Flatz, I think they have a blue that will give you that effect or you can do what I did. After putting down your base coat (probably black in this case) mix flattener 50% into your clear and add several tablespoons of blue pearl dry flake. You have to find a good paint supplier or they will look at you like you got two heads.

Make sure your gun sprays evenly and fog the final coat with a criss cross pattern to avoid a tiger stripe finish.

Great thread. I am building a 52 Chevy Coupe right now here in Germany and during process i decided to go more in the early 50s style. i love the stance and the classy look of that period, with bumper guards, side trim left on, appletons,... Mine has a 53 chevy grill so i decided i dont want nothing visible newer than 53. Inline 6 engine is also 53 and it will get the 53 mercury spears in the scoops just like the Larry ernst chevy. After reading this, and other threads, articles,.. about the style of this era i also decided to delete my frenched antenna before car went to paint shop. Hope my car fits here (even it has 53 parts) and you guys like it.
Ps. Because i live here in often rainy Germany and not in SoCal, and i dont want no trailer queen i decided to keep the dip rails
