You are one great father. Job well done, and good for you plus your daughter. Her car deserves the trophy.
Just had a conversation with a co-worker recently, has a slightly OT builder. Said he really thought he was gonna paint it purple. I cringed.... Your beautiful '55 has me reconsidering. Well done sir!
The wheels are original '55. I had The Wheelsmith take out the centers, chrome everything and then reverse them. Valve stems are on the back side. My dad had a set like these on his '55 back in '63 and my daughter wanted wheels just like her granddads.
That's a beauty! I'd seen pictures of it, and really liked it. The white 56 in your class looks nice too. Two completely different build styles, and both look great.
Ya'll beat some nice looking cars. You aced all the finer details and it shows. Great effort and a well deserved reward.
The car is beautiful, and it appears the competition was on point as well. A well deserved win for sure. But more importantly you and your daughter got to build memories along with a car and that is priceless and the biggest win of all. I have tried unsuccessfully to get either of my daughters involved with my builds and they just are not interested. So, we find other common ground to build memories on (usually that ends up being more expensive than a car build...lol) Congrats again. Chappy
Just like stepping out in 1960-63. Hello, Your (daughter’s) 55 Chevy showed the exact style of our high school cars in the early 60s. One friend that owned the 2 door 55 Chevy post had chromed reversed wheels and a similar lowered rake, stance. The other car was a 46 Ford Coupe that was painted almost the same purple and had white tuck and roll upholstery that made a nice contrast in colors. It definitely stood out from a long ways away. That 46 Ford always stood out, parked in the back row of the Bixby Knolls drive-in parking lot. With the chromed reversed rims, the Ford Coupe was a modified show car that was a daily driver to high school, too. Thanks for displaying such a cool looking 55 Chevy two door sedan. It is street cruising at its finest. Congratulations on the well deserved award at the show. Jnaki “You can’t go home again”, but seeing cars like yours just hits the spot among the everyday roadsters and trucks. It is one car that showcases what it was like back in the early 60s for everyday cruising around. Boy, we certainly did a lot of that !!!
Very nice job! My daughter says she loves the color. She says its great but she would add ghost flames. go figure, she is 7 years old. I'm glad she is loving hot rods like her dad
