  2. I worked with a guy that would only look at cars at night. He would bring a floor jack, something to lay on and a good flashlight. He maintained that defects and leaks were more evident that way. He always came home with a decent car.

The longer the OP types on this thread while leaving his money in the bank the more money he will have to buy a nicer car, pretty simple concept.

  6. Ive owned somewhere around 2000 vehicles. Never once asked anyone what a vehicle was worth. I buy at my price or I simply walk away.

  8. Well the ad says it needs floors, does it mean front to back or just select areas. It really depends on those floor if it's worth the asking price, if the floors were good I think the asking price is decent because you could drive it the way the body is, says it runs but you have to wonder about the column to floor conversion and if the floor is hacked.
Did you see the other 57 listed for a few grand less ?

So, so someone removed the paint divider. It's a "Wagon", not that that really makes a lot of difference to "ME". But, it will in the price, and I posted what I think it's worth. If you can get it for less than that, do it; more than that, you'll have to make that decision. But, it is a 150 Wagon, and I love Model 150's. IF the paperwork is "right", and you want the car, have the money, then I'd say buy it. They are't making these cars anymore you know. Sometimes, you have to take a chance. I never ask for the price but say, "I don't know what you are asking for this, but it is worth $XXX.XX to me". That way everything stays in neutral.

My favorite Tri-5 is the '57 150, painted black. Second would be a two door wagon with or without 150 trim.

I think we're all waiting patiently for more pics and your assessment...

I see quite a few commenting that are from the USA someplace.

I noticed that around by me in Wi. lately I have been seeing cars that I thought were overpriced that are getting sold for or very close to the asking price but then they are getting shipped overseas and that cost extra $$$'s too.

I am not sure how foreign buyers are finding these cars in the back country I live in but they are finding them and removing them causing our prices to go up here.

My wife is from Wisconsin so this reminds me of when her folks came to Oregon for our wedding in the early 80's. While driving around; my mother in law would keep saying
"I can't believe all the old cars on the road here", she was referring to any cars she saw that were built in the 70's.
The first time I went to Madison I could see what she meant!

If you buy the car, put the paint divider back on; that's part of what makes it a Model 150, and to me, they just don't look right without it. JMO. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

^^^^NO, and, it won't look "right" either^^^^. Use the 57 150 side trim, it's just fine the way it is, IMO. The was a 57 wagon posted about on here some time back, and it had the 55 side trim; it looked terrible. The side trim on the 57 this thread is about is not the stock trim after looking at it more closely; it looks like that stick on trim that was popular in the later 70's.

  23. Ok.
Went to look at it yesterday.
    It is a 150.
It’s ROUGH !! no floors or rockers ( they are tacked together sheetmetal at this point.)
This thing has been sitting for a long, long time in a garage.
It needs to be blown right apart sand blastedin and out lots replaced and put back together.
BUT from the rockers up it was a good body had the folding bench seat all the 150 trim and a v8 car.

I made him an offer and he said nope to low.left him my number and told him to call if things change.

Nice guy, glad I went to see it it’s a car you could get ass over tea kettle on in s hurry so it’s eitherbought for the right price and the labour is all on me.
Or your one of the lucky ones with a fully grown wallet and pay your way to a complete car.

My guess is this car done up as a clean driver would be 20-30 grand.

Sounds like if you put $50,000 into it you'll be able to flip it for $30,000

Reminds me of the guy who wanted to restore a 53 Chevy on here. One of the Hambers remarked that it is easy to put 30000 bucks into a 15000 car!

    Yep
How do you end up with a small fortune in a car by the time it's finished?
    Start with a large fortune.
