Another question that has already been answered. It is a '65 Bonneville. Why would anyone think it was a Buick?

Car shown it the White Triplex. Three Liberty V12 WW1 aircraft engines. Set the absolute Worlds Land Speed record @ 207.55 MPH on the Daytona Beach in April 1928. Driven by Ray Keech. 81 liters total engine displacement.

I've never been clear on the lineage of the first Corvettes so I'm sure I'm going to get an education HAMB style.
Were the 53/54 Corvettes only offered as soft tops?
I was always under the impression that the ones with that funky shaped removable hardtop were retrofitted with aftermarket hardtops.
This top appears to be the later style hardtop on the Corvette Autorama prototype, the early tops were hideous in my eyes. Were model cars made of the original Autorama car with the later style top or did Smith take some liberties here.
Either way he is good, he had me fooled.

No? That was certainly a ‘66 Grand Prix, and it was NOT in the US. BOTH of which are BULLSHIT for this thread. So, piss off with your snarky ass.

  15. The Triplex probably lacked stability. One of the suspected causes of the crash. triplex 440px-Lee_Bible_crash_rc13640.jpg triplex u104197acme-11.jpg

  16. Yes, I do wonder what the cars are in the 90% of photos on this thread, if they are not just run of the mill, everyday drivers. The hot rods are a minority. There are a gazillion other threads covering hot rods. If there was rider with the thread which said something like 'only pre-1948 Ford-based hot rods', I think people would get bored fairly quickly.
