I just bought a chevy 327 that has a stamped # T0403HC and I can`t find out what the HC is. they said it was out of a 65 vette, can anyone help me please
I was told by friends that the H.A.M.B. was a very good place to get info I guest they were WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok. Firstly this page is for introductions. Secondly give things a bit of time. Where on the engine are the stamps ? Block ? Heads? And forgive me but what does HC mean? Also pictures are worth a thousand words. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
.........How about telling us a little about yourself and/or your projects. This is after all, the INTRO page! Would you walk into a strangers' house without knocking on the door and ask, "Where is the refrigerator, I need a beer?"
i`m sorry, my dad an I started on a 40 ford pick up hot rod 10 years ago. we got a 90`s Toyota frame and a s-10 rearend , we had a ford cab, we built a nice box for it, we bought a 327 chevy engine for it with a 350 trany, then he got sick and died 3 years ago, my grand dad an I have just finished it. my dad always wanted to run the #s on the engine they are stamped on the front right T0403HC thank you
If that suffix code is correct, it was cast in Tonawanda on April 3. HC code has it listed as: 65, 67, or 68 Impala 327; 69 Camaro, Chevelle, or Nova 350. All had hydraulic cam, either PG trans or manual. Suffix codes were used over again, so without disassembly, might be tough. No Corvette had HC code. Hope that helps.
