And I thought getting one out that had a tree growing through it would be a problem:)

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Looked at this Chevy a few weeks ago, too much $ for me. It was the owners father that passed away, I think he had a sentimental price on it.

Are you sure that was a V16 and not a V12? I think I know that car from when it used to reside in Michigan.

image.jpg I discovered this way back in 1988 a few miles from our farm.
It’s 1934 Chevrolet Standard Coupe Utility. The images on the left are of another one that was rebuilt back in the early eighties.

Thanks to enquiries from a mate and a bit of bartering to get it collected, I got it for free in 2004. That year I was given permission to help myself to a paddock full of old cars in a town about 60 miles away.

A Rodder in my town who ran his own tilt tray “roll back” business, took me over to the town where he was able to get two sets of drum brakes, one from a 39 Mercury Sedan and the other from a 46 Ford Sedan. While there I removed the cab from a 37 Ford Truck and we slid it onto his truck.

After that we headed over to where the Chev I first discovered in 1988 lay and drove into the paddock and winched it up onto his truck. I went onto to selling the 37 truck cab a year later for $400 and I still have the Ute, it appears in my avatar.

Not bad for a days work.

Sent this one to a hamber in australia last year. It was a late 80's or 90's build stalled out. Wish i could have kept it. 20160224_124314001.jpeg

  14. I'd bring damn near all of them home if I could. My wife would be pissed, at least until I built one for her to drive.

Found this one last week. 1934 20190119_142705.jpg Australian coupe ute 528 produced. Has all the numbers, pretty cool find! Also found the 34 chassis with it and a deck lid for my Improved A coupe in another spot! Fun hunting!

  16. Found my vintage TIN in the woods. I gave a farmer $100. for it. He thought I should wait, and try to find a better one. lol The photo was from 40 years ago, after I'd brought it home. {a then and now } Always just a bare bones Hot Rod. Ron....... 139.jpg 445.jpg
