If I hadn't already started building my 50 Studebaker Champion Starlight Coupe the way I am..after seeing this I just might of been giving this some thought.... 1546344565788608449065.jpeg

In case anyone missed it, that's an early rendition of Dave Stuckey's Deuce in the background.

Back when the Petersen Museum opened some 20 years ago there was a little side room with a TV playing an endless tape of TV show openers, car commercials etc. Amongst all the clips was a '63-'65 Buick Riviera Bubbletop driven down a road. I was intrigued and called Barris, Winfield and Starbird and none of them claimed it or knew of the car.
After 14 pages in this thread it isn't listed here either.

Good question MQQN, not sure why!
Beatnik Bandit, one of the first, was front hinged.

no there isn't. the cylinders hold the sides up off the body, and it just touches a little bit in the front. mostly there is an air gap all around

Pebble 2010-1.jpg I believe that the Cadillac Cyclone inspired Starbird. The one in the corner is the "stock" Cyclone; I lowered it and lengthened the bubble on the larger image.

Please tell me this has already been posted. If Scan0829.jpg it has, it needs a repost.

  23. Roth's creations were NOT cars, they were art. Here is a picture of the Bandit with Ed obviously not even close to being able to close the top or fit his legs. Even a couple small chicks couldn't sit in it with the top down. Mysterion was equally as comfortable!!

Make sure to check the seating positions, before you get too far into the build!
