    Hello,
The absolute BEST TIME, for us, to see any car show, especially one as large and attention getting as this GNRS is during "set up" day. We used to drive up to the early Grand National Roadster Shows up in the S.F. Bay area to get in, during set up days. No bother with the heavy duty crowds or traffic. Plus, the owners were willing to answer questions about their builds. No rush, no bother and there was a direct contact for future photo shoots, after the show. Because it was in the Bay Area, it offered scenic locations like the Bayfront piers or any waterfront location nearby.

As the years rolled by from the beginnings in the Bay Area, the shows just started to get more notoriety and the consequences began to draw more crowds to the actual shows. So, it is nice to sit back and see the photos of those set up days, to bring back memories of the early days in the SF Bay area.

Thanks for the new GNRS coverage. It isn't that we don't like people or crowds, but those shows just needed some peace and quiet before the mad rush during the weekend. A clean photo without 50 people pointing and milling about the hot rods is rather nice.

Ok I went through and edited out pics of street rods with large diameter off topic wheels. Note that I did not delete the thread. I am sure there are plenty of cars at the event that can be posted within the rules here. We seem to go through this every year about this event. Please post pics but please stay within the rules and keep in mind this is a traditional hot rod forum NOT a street rod forum, there is a difference

yep, is tough to keep away from big wheels in background - I have learned (sort of) to skip over impressive rides that have big new style wheels, etc
