Work is going well on the running gear almost ready to begin assembling it. Stressing on how to deal with the botched channeling job but that's a few months off

  9. Awesome find and great to have it after a long time.
I love it and yes one of the better looking 33/34's with a 32 grill

  10. You are a fortunate man!
It's hard enough to find a 34 coupe, let alone a car with family history.
Enjoy the hell out of it!

One of the added bonuses of this Ole Hotrod is the condition...good and solid...such a blessing...the frame looks great by the way...is that the paint that was on it when your Dad owned it?

That looks primitive, basic down and dirty get the job done cool. Any history with it?

Actually looking at the pic with your dad the engine looks to have some rise to the carbs what was on it do you have other pics or recall?

It had a home built manifold out of round tubing. The guy I bought the car from put a dual quad manifold on it and did not have the one my dad made...
Someone built this out of square tubing about 25 years ago but never used it The craftsmanship is outstanding

It's cold in Wyoming and going slow I got the transmission done. Had a set if Lincoln zephyr gears and I think I have a good trans now.

Nice gearset...On the cluster, 25 or 26 teeth? (big gear)
I have a 25 tooth set, given to me by a Chevy guy that wanted to get these boxes of 'Ford Junk' out of his basement.
I thank him silently at night when I say my prayers...

Tonight while pulling out the headliner I found a sack tucked behind the headliner with this in it..
Remember this is the car my dad had when he was in college and this is where he went to college

Really cool. Maybe save the original, scan a copy of that decal and place it in the back window where Dad never did all those years ago.

  28. I hope you don’t paint the body. If I found any car that had belonged to my dad, I would get it safe and roadworthy, and run it like he did. But I get it that your repairs might be extensive. Please show photos of the channel job that’s stressing you out.

You are fortunate to have that car, wish I could have one of the few my dad had back in the day.

FYI, you mentioned that it is a 354 Hemi, but that extended bellhousing says it was originally a 331. To become a 354 it would have an overbore of 0.125 or be stroked, or a combination of the two.
