    Hey Everyone,

I am trying to figure out what this car is originally

There was a tag on the original frame that wrote,
"The Canadian Top and Body Corp Limt.
    Tillbury Ontario"
    rat rod 5.jpg
    Any Info would be fantastic

  2. Maybe spend some time and learn a little about this place.....we don’t do rat rods here, traditional hot rods and customs only.

I do not have a clue, but since I am curious as to what it is, I hereby subscribe to your thread, and will be lurking nearby.
I wonder what that would look like on a '32 frame?

It would look a lot better than it does now and I don't know what it is.

Yes, I am looking for something from more of the era, but as you may also know its a long process to find something that would work. But that's the end goal

Read the article on Canadian top and they made bodies for Hudson & Essex which looked close, but I think the 1930 Willys Overland is a match.

I thought this would be easy, but so far nothing I've googled matches.

Don't think it's a '30 Willys. There's no curve to the base of the A-pillar where it blends into the beltline.

The key is that secondary bead along the beltline, and the way it turns up the A pillar. Very distinctive little detail.

  15. I think it is a 1930 Hudson Essex.

The pics aren't real clear, and there were so many from this era that look a whole lot alike, but I'm placing my bet on 1931 Studebaker president model 80.

  18. It also does not have the curve detail below the side windows. Very possibly the Studebaker.

Pow, there it is. Roof arc, visor, door tops, window moldings and beltline all match.
*edit* Searching for an ID has given me an appreciation for the variation in '30/31 cars (all so similar!), and the stude has some details that really stand out. The rakish, arced roofline is almost Pierce-Arrow-like, and the thin door tops are unlike almost everything else at the time. Super stylish.

The travesties in this cruel and senseless world knows no bounds. :(

Why would anyone use a S10? They are the least desired mini truck out there... Makes no sense to me...

Is the drivers side rear door smaller than the passenger?
