    The monstrosity is Mickey Thompson's Challenger LSR car. But you raise a good point about the plugs although the engines probably would have come out long before plugs needed changing.

    I tend to pull the plugs after every pass, Kind of see whats happening in there. Most and I bet MT warmed the engines and changed to race plugs before every pass.

    Could be why Mickey was unable to make that return run within 1 hour, after he clocked 406mph in one direction?
    But official record or not, that run is still remembered today!

    I guess you are one of those guys who know all about running at Bonneville and El Mirage. So maybe you can tell me what they do between runs. Do you have lots of experience with fuel motors that you can share?

    They broke a drive line part. Pretty sure they had the plug drill down pat.
