I recently saw a bare 28/29 Tudor body for sale for $11500 AUD, adjusted that works out to about $8000 US. Can anyone top this ?

Saw an A-400 once for $55,000. Body, frame and pieces of the top irons.

Well, you could ask anything. The question should be, "What's the highest price you ever saw a Model A sell for?".

Dang I have to save that photo of the Vicky body just to be able to show that there is one in worse shape than mine.
I have to agree that asking/wanting and actually getting is a whole different story.
I ended up getting my 31 Vic for a third of the original Craigslist asking price and still probably paid too much for it. On the other hand I have seen a couple super nice bodies for sale that had all the metal work done to perfection, all the wood replaced and were within a few hours of a critical painter's prep for really nice paint for sale for what seems to be a high price until you start adding up the cost to get one to that point.

High end A's are for those hotrodders that are building a car for themselves-building what they like without a thought to getting a return on investment. A high end Model A might equal a mid-range Deuce and we all pretty much know how that would probably end up. (Although I,personally, would still like to have the A, all things considered. But, beauty, and value, is in the eye of the beholder.)

I saw a very nice 30/31 Coupe Body for sale today for $14000, if that’s not high end I don’t know what is.

I have seen people pay $5000-$6000 for really nice bare 30-31 coupe bodies recently, which is odd to me because you can still find pretty decent running driving stock coupes for around 10k But, it makes a whole lot more sense to me to pay six grand for a nice one, than three for a crappy one.

I was wondering about that, it looked very good, but still too pricy.

  15. I would like to have that Vicky body, not for 12K, but nothing better than a Vicky.

More like $7500 and no Tudors, but you have to ask yourself why you'd buy a pile of metal for $2500 and then put all those hours of body work in. If you have the skills and the time, fine, but body work adds up really fast.

My buddy sold a Texas A 31 coupe on a Brookville frame SBC , Turbo , S10 rear . No paint , wiring , nothing but what is stated 15K . But it was by far the nicest A I have ever seen . The floor structure , had shiny Henry applied paint still on it . Outside was paint with brush on Red Lead primed from USN in the fifties .
