I have a 34 ford 5 window coupe. The battery is in the trunk.
Pros and cons of moving the battery behind the seat under the package tray?

The reason is that I want to dress up the trunk and the battery doesn’t look that good.

  3. Batteries off gas. Fumes aren't good for you. If you ever have a battery go bad, over charging issues or the like. It can get ugly real fast.

Keep the battery in the trunk, put it in a tool box or something like that to hide it. I would never put a battery inside the car with me, fir safety reasons.

Mine is "dressed" in leather and carpet but the battery is quite at home. Use your imagination and a battery that doesn't off gas and hide it in plain sight.

Nothing wrong with locating the battery behind the seat, as long as it's in a vented (through the floor) box and properly secured. That's where my roadster's is and where my '40's will be.

When you really think about it.
A vented battery box in the cab may be safer than an unvented battery in the trunk. Most trunks are well sealed from the outside but not so much from the front interior.

  10. Maybe I'm odd... I like them under the hood... if you have the space. Early Fords they were under the floor IIRC. Going from old AMT model kits of course....
