Hey yall i have a Autogage tach in my 65 Chevyii with inline 6 cylinder with the original points distributor and it runs fine and revs fine but according to the tach it revs high at like 3.000 but sounds like its really revving at 5.000 not sure if i hooked it up right or not can i please get some help if i shift at 3.000 it sounds like its screamin but i have my wire on the negative on the coil Sent from my LG-LS777 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

the older Autometer tachs have two wire loops, where the rest of the wires come out. You cut one or both of them for 6 or 4 cylinder use. Figure out what wires it has, look up the instructions on the internet, and see if you can get it to work.

Did you go to their web site ? Looks like they have downloads and videos. Call them . I think an more age looking appropriate tach would look cool with your patina dash.
Did you find the model number of the tach you have, and download the instructions for it? Tach wire goes to negative side of coil, as you have it wired now. But the instructions will tell you how to set the tach for 4, 6, or 8 cylinder use. edit: see the above instructions? the next two pages in the pdf file explain how to program it for the number of cylinders, set the shift light, etc.
