It really is, I could not believe it myself when I first saw it, just a real time capsule. Thanks for the compliment!

Remember there's no replacement for displacement a 350 is pretty much the same size and almost as cheap to build so why are u going with a 283? Is there a class with cubic restrictions that ur gonna race in or are u going with period correct?

Thanks Denny, Now this thread will get locked down.

At least it was a GM (EMD) blower. It's original application below.

Well you are correct however I had a pile of 283 stuff on the shelf and am using what I had however it is now 311 cubic inches and the v belts didn't last long so it now has a 2" cragar gilmer style drive on it

Christmas 2018 034.JPG Well, here's another one for the thread, I bought this package (Blower and manifold) with a few other pulleys and idler brackets and did some deep, deep cleaning to get it to this stage, just a lot of toothbrush time and a can of Gibbs oil on the blower, but it's a complete original Hampton Mag 671 on a Cragar manifold, looking for some input here on early or late on the Cragar pop off plate as I have a couple that have the "Cragar" cast into the plate, and the plate that came with the manifold under the Hampton Blower does not have the "Cragar" cast into it.

My understanding is all CRAGAR products including pop offs were marked with the logo. I have seen copies from other manufacturers that are identical in shape but without the CRAGAR logo. I have an original magnesium pop off that has the CRAGAR logo that I would sell if you are interested.

Another post/question for everybody, Tony has that 15 fin scoop for the Barn Door injector, mine came with the smooth scoop, no fins, I just picked up this scoop that only has 3 small fins, it appears to be cast to fit the barn door, but the guy I got it from claims it was a Moon scoop. It only has one hole to bolt it down instead of two, so that's different, my question would be which scoops were available Jan 19 work phone 447.JPG Jan 19 work phone 448.JPG Jan 19 work phone 449.JPG Jan 19 work phone 450.JPG Jan 19 work phone 446.JPG Jan 19 work phone 445.JPG from Enderle, and who made scoops to fit these barn door injectors?

Yep, I have seen them both ways too wrenchbender, but I also understand the branding side of things like Kan Kustom is saying. My manifold has Cragar cast in the rear like it should, I just figured it might have been an early versus late deal on the pop off valve/plate having it or not having it cast into it..

I found a Cragar 3-71 carb adapter at a Goodguys last summer, thought that was pretty unusual.

The cast blow off plates often broke. I made some finned billet plates for guys and converted a few to the current legal panel.

That could be I'm not sure that's why I included the year purchase I thought that may help distinguish a better idea on a timeline I'm curious as well

The early CRAGAR blower manifolds had pop offs in the bottom, not on the front like this one. I have both, the early style and the second generation with the pop off on the front with the CRAGAR logo. I have been a CRAGAR nut since they first came out with the SS wheels in the early 60's and everything I ever saw down to lake pipe caps ,carb block off plates, adapters or any other trivial thing they ever made had their logo cast into them. I remember when the copies without the name came out. I am not saying I can't be wrong but in all the years that I have been infatuated with this stuff, this has been my experience. I have a lot of CRAGAR pieces.

Good for you. Almost impossible to find today. They make adapter plates to mount a 471 on a 671 manifold, but gain an inch in height. Here is the 471 I found here on the HAMB on my 327. Perfect proportions for a small block and every thing fits under the hood. My 327 3 28 20 left side.jpg
