Great pictures! Thank for the effort in getting them posted.

That being said I would really like to get my grubby little hands on one of those slopers. Nothing like that around here but there needs to be and it needs to be in my garage.

Thanks Pat. I'm not that far advanced yet. Nice work on the rust repair although I can't remember ever using a bottle top as a patch.

  15. This is where we got upto with the 34 before the end of year. Headers and firewall done and on the final day it was dragged from its holding slot in the shop and out to the open for the first time in 6 months was good to get a side view again and see what it looks like. 20181123_143321.jpeg 20181214_125943.jpeg 20181219_140244.jpeg 20181221_151852.jpeg 20181221_165039.jpeg 20181221_165023.jpeg 20181221_164056.jpeg

  16. We also started on a new project at the family workshop, whilst cleaning up from the annual family and friends shop party we started talking about dragging dads 34 3 window out of the corner to push him to make a start in the new year, well one thing lead to another and an hour later we had it torn down and sitting on the chassis that used to be under my tudor body. The plan being address some of the smaller issues in the panel work thanks to an over zealous forklift driver, pick up the last of the missing pieces and get it up and running whilst the weather is good and drive it. Then later on it will be chassis swapped again. that will be more my dad's style. 60s hot rod. Unchopped, full fendered with an (injected hopefully) 396 big block. 578154_390937060949341_100000991524565_1095848_776970141_n.jpeg 20181202_173555.jpeg 20181202_173944.jpeg FB_IMG_1543784246173.jpeg 20181202_180008.jpeg 20181202_180441.jpeg 20181202_181007.jpeg 20181202_175958.jpeg

  18. It is, whoever put it back together a long time ago was an artist! Killer gas welds all over it. Only body issue is the cowl vent but we have a replacement now, gradually chipping away at it, hopefully get some drive time before winter comes

I always thought that everything Down Under would look like it should be in a Mad Max movie.:D

A bump for a great thread and a bit of an update on my project. I've also started my own thread if anyone is interested.

  25. Just seeing this tread, lots of great pictures! Neat to see rods and customs of Australia! I do have a question, since this thread is full of the cars out that way.

I am trying to track down a radical custom 55 Chevy pickup my grandfather built in the early 90's and then in the early 2000's made the voyage that way. I have a picture of the truck at a show years ago over there, cant remember what part though want to say Melbourne or Sydney, but I am probably wrong. The truck is heavily chopped, channeled and sectioned, was running later model step side bed fenders, painted teal with some god awful tribal flames. If the truck might sound familiar to anyone I can email or message pictures of the truck. I would just like to possibly get in contact with the current owner if possible.
