Features Kustoms blues? I need to see some kustoms....

Alive and doing well at the Museum of Speed in Bill Smith`s Speedway Museum. It was displayed at the Des Moines Goodguy`s Heartland Nationals This past July. I last saw it in September at there Cars and Coffee. Free admission to the museum. Sorry, all of the pic`s I have are on my camera.

Glad to see it's still around. That picture was taken in 1985 at the Detroit Autorama annual fall picnic that used to be held following the summer car show seasons. There used to be some historic custom cars that were brought out for these shows. Here's one of a Barris custom that was present the following year that I believe is in the Henry Ford Museum.

 

Yes, that Merc is in the Henry Ford. Got to see it last year. What an awesome museum!!

 

@ramblin dan I have always liked that Merc. Would of been neat to see all those cars outside. Someday I`ll get to the Museum to see that Merc. They need to put the Frazier grille back in.

 

And speaking of shortened, chopped coupes with sedan doors, Juaquin Arnett (of "Bean Bandits" fame) built this cool compact around 1951. (Can you imagine Andy Granatelli in this thing? )

From the 1994 Paso Robles West Coast Kustom's car show. From the rear of this Lincoln,you can see my 56 Dodge parked next to it,I ended up driving 5300 miles round trip from Minnesota during that 2 week trip.
