Hot Rods Car's out in the woods

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Speed Gems, Oct 17, 2015.

  1. You're not kidding, I know where a '47 Dodge sedan is on it's side in the woods, I went up and looked at it probably 25 years ago now, before the thought of taking photos was a thing. The top of it looked like swiss cheese.

The strangest one I ever came by was a '37 Chevy pickup about 3/4 the way down about a 100 foot bank above a creek - where someone had put a cable through it to hold it up, wrapped around the cab and up to a big tree at the top of the bank. It was all there save the left door and hood, about half buried in the dirt, almost like someone had parallel parked it there. I took the hood ornament and whatever it attached to off it, probably shouldn't have but kids do dumb things. Probably still there now. That one was not shot up.

  7. 20181216_115523.jpg I posted these over on the sitting and rotting thread. They're long gone. This was looking down the middle row.
20181216_115616.jpg This is probably still there. Haven't checked in awhile.
20181216_115602.jpg I know this 39 Ford is still there. Its way back in the woods.

You know what I find surprising is to find a car with a custom paint job, maybe a few body mods just sitting out in the woods pretty much rusted away. You know someone put a lot of effort, time, and money into it and now it just sits out in the woods. Almost like seeing a car with mag wheels sitting in a junk yard.

I think that is the truck 337ci motor that Ford used in the heavy trucks of the day.
