Hey, Old Wolf, what’s the story on that excavator bucket, that I can see in a couple of pictures?

  2. That loose bucket is off a 580 case backhoe. I bought it at a auction for $95. Its barely used in real good shape. I plan to weld and fab brackets to make it fir my John Deere backhoe. The bucket on it is wore out. So I thought I would cut it apart and make a narrow bucket out of it. Ive been working on and operating heavy equiptment since I was a Little Kid. Ran a 2u D8 cat with a cable blade when I was a Teen.

  3. Today when I got up it was cold and cloudy. I fed the wood stove the last of the firewood. So I went and started cutting a load. Got about a 1/2 rick and it started raining. So I loaded what I had and came home. My wife fixed me sausage & biscuits for breakfast. Didnt do anything constructive except just before dark I went and fed the critters and refilled the wood stove. The weather liars have predicted more rain & possibly ice and snow tomorrow. And tomorrow is the 49th annual Green county FFA auction. However I think I will stay home . It will only be the second time I didn't attend.

  4. Installed gas tank on my roadster. Sorry too tired to take picture.

I pulled the 4 speed transmission out of my 66 Hemi Satellite. It's a heavy mother compared to a Muncie...It needs a couple of new synchros but is in pretty good shape, all things considered.

Painted this part on the sunliner, its been bugging me for years and since its loose I am going to move the trans cooler away from the radiator. The retainer parts damaged the radiator on the trip to Florida so I am going to use one from a 90s truck that has brackets to mount to the core support.

    Do you care if it's from a different location? 20190112_182235.jpg 20190112_182335.jpg

Spent the majority of the day with Andy (weps) picking it up for my friend. Saw lots of things in greater detail as we toured the ACD museum. I highly recommend a visit to anyone that finds themselves near there. The only skidmark to the day was the stiff necked drive home in blowing snow, but as we can see she made it home just fine. Thanks for everything again Andy, but where's that one pic? ;)

4 hours of deep cleaning my off topic pickup cab outside in the driveway. "Big deal!" you think, but its almost unheard of in the middle of January in Wisconsin

  25. Designed and printed some custom bead roller dies that I will need to fab the tailgate on my F100. It only took numerous tries to both design the right profile, but also to get the print settings right to make a part strong enough to shape metal. Plus, it forces me to learn something new, which is generally a good thing, as long as it's something I want to learn or so my bosses have told me. For me, I will only need those dies once, so it was a better deal to buy an inexpensive 3d printer and get some free software that it would be to have a custom set of dies made. Plus I can make another set relatively quickly if needed to include any new shapes.

The profile shows v11 on it. That is the 11th version (after I started keeping track). I had a profile gauge that I was using, but it could not get tight inside radius accurately, so I ended using the tried and true method of creating a cardboard template and then making the digital version to print.

The small circle was the 4th or 5th try to get the inner profile correct for my bead roller shafts.

    Profile.jpg

The two profiles are to create the body side profile on my truck to extend on to the tailgate I have envisioned.

I installed a (non-traditional) horn on the Merc. I know, I'm so ashamed. I bought a Stebel Nautilus compact twin air horn. Had to run new wires, install relay, make a bracket. It sounds amazing. Love this tread!
