Ok ok, my '42 is not an F100 so here are some shots of my '57 from back in 1978. Big back window short bed 312 power. Probably the only vehicle I've ever sold that I really want back. 102_0970.JPG 102_0971.JPG

Great looking truck. Seems with 15” wheels they look lowered.

IMG_20190112_203242.jpg I don't have an Effie, so I guess I won an Emmy? He is my 51 Mercury M-1, which I have owned for 28 years now. It does a nice job of collecting dust while waiting for it's time in the spotlight once again.
It wouldn't be that hard to put it back on the road , but I want to do something different with the front suspension (has a 1979 Twin I beam under it now). And, at 6'4" with some back issues, it isn't terribly comfortable, so I need to come up with some seating and pedal placement solutions too.
    Maybe a retirement project...

Minnesota. This truck came down from the great white north in 1988, I think. I bought it in 1990. Was already done, with a rowdy 351C and a c6 in it.

Sweet! Not that many people in the states seem to have heard of a Mercury pickup, so that makes it kind of fun.
Are they pretty plentiful up there, or were a lot of the trucks imported Fords?

Sounds like my 6’3 brother with his oval window bug. Got to pull your gas tank out, get a little room. Very nice truck.
When these trucks were new people were shorter and thinner.

This '66 was my daily driver from '86 to '95. I went overseas (military) at that point, put it in a relative's barn and didn't go back for it. Finally, in 2016, I brought it home to get it working again. To date, brakes, suspension, fuel system and electrical have all been gone through. I actually got the engine running after sitting for 21 years with some TLC and a few new parts. I backed it up and down the driveway under it's own power a couple of weeks ago, and hope to run it around the block very soon. But it needs a new clutch so the I'm probably going to pull the engine and trans together and go thru the engine at the same time.

Finished swapping the carb and switching the oil bath air cleaner to a paper element and then out for a drive a couple weekends ago. I'm slowly working to clean up the under hood appearance.

    upload_2019-1-16_5-41-46.png So Cal F100
    Hello,

On a break between rain showers on the West Coast, there was this cool looking Ford F100 pick up in the parking lot of a local Lowe’s store. It was a good day to wander around the store trying to find ways to spend money. The light blue F100 just drew everyone's eye as it cruised into the lot. It had the style of the late 50s and early 60s, not too radical and not totally stock.

A nice older couple got out of the car and went in for??? We were on our way out, after looking at garage cabinets and counter tops. Being given the OK to replace very old garage cabinets is so nice...and it makes a great field trip instead of looking at photos online.
upload_2019-1-16_5-46-51.png The headliner was pretty cool looking. The detailing on this car was pretty good. It was a great looking daily driver, useful for plenty of trips to these styles of stores and nursery for plants. We could have used a truck like this one just last week when we purchased 4 flats of succulent ground cover and other plants for our remodeled front yard.

Everything was a look and style, straight out of the 1950s and 60s.

It was one of those cool, So Cal Ford F100 pickup trucks that are great looking, stylish, and used for daily driving. It would also fit nicely in our small garage. It would also be nice for our runs to the nursery for larger plants and small trees. Sometimes it would satisfy the need for a larger vehicle (in this day and age of small cars/station wagons), to carry more stuff, too.

Even our granddaughter AND small dog would fit inside for short trips everywhere. Say, you would think a pickup truck is in our future?

    Here's my brother's 54. He's not into posting photos.
It has a 292 Y-block. Runs great and straight.

This is an excellent example of repeats. I can look at these pictures ONCE a WEEK,

and NEVER get tired of looking at them...
