Okay, to tight in the garage, can't work with the dragster when the Olds is standing right beside.... So now, that Olds is out of the way , to focus on the rail! :) IMG_20190105_134827.jpg Now its tight in the parkingspot instead, thats okey with me IMG_20190105_160719.jpg so finaly some space to walk around My dragster, that feels good!
IMG_20190105_162933.jpg moved it without front end
IMG_20190105_171304.jpg hanged on the wheels, damn, this looks cool!
IMG_20190105_171353.jpg now I can measure some panels for the body
IMG_20190105_171504.jpg this feels realy realy Good to enter the garage now

I need to work on the Olds and camaro as well, but I need to weld brackets and other stuff on chassi, so I can move around free in garage.

Did take a look at the body issue, so I made a side with cardboard. I will do all the pieces, then copy in alunalumi IMG_20190109_112841.jpg

Yes that is from a boat , rare..
Im thinking of put that on my vette 55 265 engine with aluminium flywheel and high rev cam. Then put in a hotrod, just replace the flathead v8, and use the hoses to the intake IMG_20190112_073033.jpg
And I got the angled carb adapter, så its right angled again IMG_20190112_072651.jpg

Nothing more on the body this week..
Perhaps next week there will be some work done....

But I found this pg adapter in My basement, and with this, I can get the boltpattern and shape on the sheet metal, to drill and cut out , and do the bracket for engine/glide. 113714-291a4418eb79ec569544a7be201ebb02.jpg

IMG_20190129_182305.jpg Little time in the garage...
IMG_20190129_182222.jpg and I feel stupid, but when the plate is made, do I have to machine the housing on the glide, or spacer for the turbine (but that feels, risky?)
Please teach me, how does People solve this? I have google it with now succes..
    And thicknes, like 4mm ?

I just got done doin this on a sbc pg combo and I just made a thick washer on the ol lathe to space the converter back properly it works perfectly but make sure the pilot will still reach the crankshaft to center it on out Flatcad pg adapter we had to make a spacer for the convertor center.

When we have a converter/turbine made, we tell them its for a car with a .250 motorplate, and they adjust the flexplate mounts and pilot when they set it up, Its a pretty common deal for them and on the shelf

The old banjo axle, is going to be painted and be wall art for now. And yesterday I picked up a niner , housing with big bearing ends and brakes (not drums, but the rest of it)
IMG_20190203_122840.jpg IMG_20190203_122759.jpg just gonna figure out witch size/kind of drums I need.
    IMG_20190203_123157.jpg measure like 30,5cm
    And
    IMG_20190203_123229.jpg 5,5cm wide bands

Feels good to go with 9" , lots of parts and strong rear end .

IMG_20190204_211937.jpg started to clean the housing, easier when narrowing and welding.

On the aluminum motor plate, were you planning on bending those 90* or welding?? both ways highly NOT recommended as they remove the heat treat of the plate itself

No, Im planning to make that plate in Steel and bend 90* in a machine. Or should I skip bending and just have a straight plate?

Use 1/4" aluminum plate (6061T6) come out from the top hole (above the alignment dowel)straight out over the top frame rail (fitting the plate to the tubing ) and weld a braced tab. Extend the edge of the plate parallel to both frame rails and tab off the bottom rail 100_2001.JPG
