Projects Time to put together a survivor 32

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by yankee mike, Jan 9, 2019.

  1. I purchased this car from a guy on here a couple years ago. Story has it that the car was taken off the road for a new paint job and a motor swap in '54 or so but never made it back to the road. SO after 65 years I guess it's time to make it happen. My original intent was to build a early 50s hotrod out of it but for now I'll do a "survivor " type build.

  2. I little compound and elbow grease goes a LONG way to remove 65 years of crud!!

  6. Neat! Keeping it on the frame it’s on rather that’s the one beside it I gather???

  7. No that's just a spare I purchased to paint my 3wd body while I assemble the chassis. 5wd retaining its original chassis

  14. So do you have the details of the original build before ‘54? Is that your direction or are you going to finish the “update” that never transpired?

Good luck with this one Mike, I'm sure it will turn out well. Ron

  17. The only details that i know of was a v8 was being put in the car. Other than that I'm not sure.
I'm planning on doing the same of course and adding all the period correct hot rod up grades that would have been done in '54. Everthing will have the matching patina of the car. I'm pretty sure I have enough parts in my stash to do so.

  27. Well I don't like the color of it. :D

Looks like fun to me. I'll probably have to check back in once in a while just so I can be jealous.

  28. So what are you thinking for an engine . . . . Cadillac, Olds, Hemi . . . do tell? I'd love to see more early Olds or Cad stuff - just don't see many around.

  29. Car is kind of like a Very light orange.Originally it was a standard black car with a 4 banger. YES I wish it was still black lol . All the inside and floors are still black. Even the door jams are still black
