0634C3B5-81FA-4D03-A364-F58DA8721925.jpeg Question for the HAMB: What is the thread of this hole on the top back of my SBF 302 HO Roller motor? I tried a 1/4”NPT plug and it felt like it didn’t want to go. There is some paint on the threads which may have caused this or it may be some other thread.

I plan on plugging this hole, which I assume goes into an oil gallery. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    Thanks in advance -

Believe that exits above the flexplate/flywheel area of the block. Plug it with whatever fits

it's for the knock sensor....yeah, plug it with whatever you can, or leave it open, or whatever you want to do. It's just a hole.

Depending on how old that block is it could be metric.

As always, the knowledge on the HAMB is such a fantastic resource. Thanks again to my fellow HAMB'ers for the help.

    Happy New Year!

I put a small brass plug in there. Like a small freeze plug. Little lock tight for feels good.
