I still have the receipt in my emails. Im thinking its not the headlight switch though, why would the head and tail terminal be dead on both ? Makes no sense to me

When i take my tail light wire that goes to the switch, and run 12v to it all my tail lights work. Same with the dimmer power wire, when i run 12v to that my headlights are working fine now. Ive tested the headlights and taillights using the wires at the switch and everything works perfect, but the headlight and tail light terminal on the switch are dead. All the grounds and pigtails are working fine

    Silly question,
Is there power to the switch?

The first car i wired, I reversed the power and dash lights wires and blew the fuse, no power to the switch.

Yea, i have the power at the switch, the brake terminal, park light terminal and dash lights/rheostat all work perfect. To test the headlights and tail lights, ive been putting there wires to the terminals that i know are working (brake, park light, and dash light) and all my tail lights, and headlights work fine. But the designated headlight and tail light terminals on the switch dont give me anything. The new switch i just got did the same exact thing which makes me think maybe theres something im missing. Whats the chances two switches have the same two dead terminals? And the first switch that was originally in the car used to work fine. I must be missing something

Is the headlight switch a switched ground for headlights?

Strange that two switches do the same thing.

Headlights have a ground at the back of the bulb, relay is also grounded. Someone else previously said the switch shouldnt have to be grounded, and my park lights work fine. Not sure

1firewall.JPG With the Rebel harness all the wires are marked as to placement, are there any left over ? And just for an experiment try using this diagram since you are running that aftermarket turn signal switch.

    THE WIRING ISSUE IS SOLVED!

Talked to a tech at Rebel, and he found a spare diagram that was hand drawn in there files, apparently for our cars. Wired it up and everything works well. Heres how its layed out....

Left side back to front is - Park, Power, Dimmer
Right side back to front is - Taillights, Jumper wire from power terminal, Dash lights

I whipped up a bracket for my brake light switch

    Shot some paint on it

Also got my turn signal wire cover on. Turned out nice. Gonna swap the hex head screw for a buttonhead and paint it brown

Got the tie rods and drag links all cotter pinned and greased. I think i forgot to order a bushing for the pitman arm to the drag link, i just have a bent washer thing there. Gotta be missing something...

Sorry for the major lack of progress fellas. Lifes been busy as all hell this year.

I just got around to doing the front seat bottom today. Few wrinkles but turned out decent, still need to paint and pinstripe the side covers for the seat. Does anyone know how to disassemble the split backs for the bench. Im not sure how the new upholstery is supposed to be installed. You can see it just wraps around the bottom of the seat and tucks into a seam. Also, any tips on the stainless strips on the seat backs ?

  22. Nice work on the wiring, I may have the same terminals jumped on my '59 HL switch. I got a new one when I did my harness a couple of years back.

Figured out the seat backs, wasnt too complicated. The fit on the covers is so so but it turned out fairly decent. Got the drivers side to do and everything will pretty much be ready to go in the interior

I'm late to the party here but I've got to say- nice work you're doing! I see that you are installing your seat covers, where did you source them? I've got a couple of cars in need of some new covers.

Thanks guys, seat covers came from EZBOY, which is now owned by lebarron bonney i believe. As did all the material for the door panels, kicks etc and then i made my own door cards and covered those. The fitment on theyre seat covers isnt 100 percent perfect but it saves alot of money over taking it to a super legit upholstery shop. They have tons of seat designs and colors available

Gonna hit a few spots with filler then paint em and lay down some stripes to accent the stamping in the sides of them

Thanks for the upholstery info Shane. The interior on your car looks fantastic, you've done a great job- on the whole car, not just the interior; your car is much more than just a daily driver.
