  3. Its a pretty day so I Started pulling the 350 engine out of my OT 80,s chevy 3/4 wrecker. The 350 has two spun rod bearings. Im replacing it with a newer 305. Im hoping the 305 doesn't guzzle as much fuel as that 350 did?

Taking the wifey out to lunch in the ‘64 Elco. Beautiful mostly sunny SoCal day. Merry Christmas!

Took the heap for Chinese take out, and a chance to look at the Cragars I just put on. Not right for it I'm thinking. I love chrome Cragars on '50s '60s hot rods but a little too jazzy for my pile. 1220181611_resized.jpg

Replaced some spark plugs and fixed a broken alternator mount in the Buick. Topped off the fluids and got it ready for the road trip to the in-laws tomorrow.

  9. I decided it was time to straighten out the shop and clean up my office, AKA man cave. Things went pretty smooth with the shop clean up and half of the 12X 24 office. I found a bunch of worthless junk I had saved for no reason, boxed it up and set it outside for re classification at a later date. (I'm a pack rat and throwing things away is hard for me) . then I found a jug of whiskey I had stashed away and decided to have a drink. Didn't get much done after that, I'll try again tomorrow after noon.

Got bored in work today, and the boss is away. So I decided to refurb my pedals and make a new shaft. No more play and works perfect now ! 20181228_133339.jpeg

Your going to like that lathe! I see you got some extra chucks with it, awesome! You need smaller gravel in your driveway, though.

  14. Sold a OT 83 chev pickup. It went to Kansas City. The intergrated head 250 wasn't any good. Nice young guy plans to swap in a V8. Ive sold 5 vehicles this year. Have not bought any complete vehicles this year. That might change New Years day. sold 83 pickup 001.JPG sold 83 pickup 002.JPG sold 83 pickup 003.JPG

I put new shocks on my 56, balanced the wheels, lubed the front end, and found the right spindle arm was loose so took it apart, cleaned it up and put back together. Car drives like new.

I moved a few things out to the shed and while out there I rearranged stuff to tidy up and make more room for when I get the Loader out there..Spent couple hours blowing the last of the leaves and sucked them up with the tractor..Started two tractors and let warm up then shut fuel off and let them run dry for winter storage..

Shoveled snow and also used the snow blower.
Not too bad, the snow was still soft...not too wet.

Shot some primer on the roadster body. Set the engine in the frame for the first time. Now time to pull back out and work on tranny mount.[ body on body off repeat engine in engine out repeat]

I scored another semi-rare (read nobody wants them, so they get scrapped) Econoline bellhousing for a project.

I was draggin' ass for most of the rest of the day.
