upload_2018-12-28_4-19-46.png Thanks, to 31Dodger, from Oregon.

It was a fun project to make. Directions, who reads directions? It was a custom pedal car all the way to the final stage (cut, trim, glue, modify, etc.)

    Hello,

“After Christmas” sales have been going on for decades. One side of the family heads for the indoor/outdoor malls. The other side, heads for one of the local swap meets in the neighborhood. What you got and want to get rid of will be headed for the swap meets. Here is a fun way to transport all of your stuff. The wagon is steel, with solid wheels, so there is no need for air in the tires. It is sturdy enough to carry a lot of stuff around the swap meets. It also fits in the back of a station wagon or sedan delivery with simplicity.

How to get individual Moon Discs for the wagon wheels? There is an abundance of plastic pole, cover caps from 3 inches to 6 inches sold everywhere. With a little chrome paint, a miniature disc is created. For the amateur machinists: a lathe, wood shaped block, files, shaping tools, aluminum sheets, perfect for making your own aluminum Moon Discs for the wagon wheels.

An added plus, is that you can still use the wagon for “yard” landscaping and moving stuff around the yard. It is a multi-use wagon from the historic past… and it fits in most cars with the fold down rear seats, too.

In Long Beach, you will have to wait until January 6, 2019 at the famous Veteran’s Memorial Stadium. It has been “home” for all of the high school football games for LB Poly HS, since they did not have a large enough home campus, stadium. The nearby LBCC football program also calls Vet’s Stadium home. The outside parking lot has held these swap meets since back in the 60s.

Originally, people cleaned out their garages for the weekend swap meets. Then as time rolled on, people were setting up commercial businesses as a means to make money. So, the original antiques and old car parts (including N.O.S.) were overshadowed by commercial products, low cost jeans and larger entities, similar to the low cost, Harbor Freight products.

    Jnaki

The old LB swap meet (opened in 1983) has morphed into this huge, automotive event. There is even a car/hot rod sales area with rules and name change are for the better.

“Whether you want to clear out the Garage or you are a Professional Shop or Manufacturer anyone selling automotive related parts, services, or accessories can be a vendor at the Long Beach Hi Performance Swap Meet.”

“Automotive related parts, services, and accessories only!”

Even before 1983, there were swap meets located here with strictly car stuff on one weekend and on another, antique furniture and products. Eventually the market dwindled and they were gone. But, it was "in with the new and out with the old," every year after the holidays. Somehow, I have survived all of these years, after Christmas and New Year's Day house/garage clean outs. The main, old guy is still around. Whew!

I contacted artist "David Lozeau" and asked permission to re-paint one of his pieces. He was kind enough to say yes. That is so nice when it all works out. I'm still going to add some lettering. Re-purposed cutting board. Gary IMG_2502.JPG IMG_2504.JPG
