I suck at keeping things updated. I got it on the road last week! Such a blast

Drove it all over the northland and stopped at a buddy's house to show his father.

I don't get on the HAMB much any more but I'm glad I subscribed to this build. Congrats, turned out awesome!!! I bet it's a blast to drive...it's been some perfect fall weather in KC lately to cruise around in an open rod like that. I'm sure you get many a looks.

Tailgates are not cheap! So I made one and skinned it with old jerry cans. It's not perfect but it'll do. Hey it's a jalopy right?

50 degrees out in KC today, so I got to play a little. Plus you can see the Chevy hood sides that I added.

Thanks man, it sure is fun. I didn't think about the chains hitting the lights! Good call, I'll check the clearance.

So glad you got the roadster body. Looks like fun. And you fab your ass off. "Helps to be broke."...lol. Love the hinges...and everything else you cut and stuck back together. Inspiring. Thanks, IM!

  26. Just found this thread! (Thanks @Tim!) I really like the way you’ve built it like it would have been built “back in the day”.

Canvas tubes work good on thee tailgate chains, but old bicycle inner tubes work well too.
