I totally agree, those 351C are nasty. Had a mild one in a 64 Falcon that seldom lost any street race back in the day.

This 55 Chevrolet, and how it's put together, is one of the best cars on the HAMB, IMO!!! I have everything to assemble the same engine for my 56 Sedan Delivery; actually, the engine/trans assembly are already done. The dual quad setup is in boxes, all new/rebuilt, and ready to go. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

I disagree here . The SBC and the Flathead both had long careers in racing but I believe the best engine belongs to Offenhauser [a great American engine]
Originally developed as a marine engine, it had a racing career from 1930 until 1982
420hp from a 15:1 compression 4 cylinder engine was quite impressive.

Here's an early 283 I've been rebuilding over the last 7 days as a Xmas present to myself.

I thought I read somewhere that this thread was shut down due to billet pulleys......well I thinks I see a possible billet pulley in one of these reposted pictures.......if I can see it Santa probably could also......and what list would you rather be on......you decide....just saying.......

I was thinking how much I like this subtle-looking small block Ford, then I saw the engine stand. I'll take both!

I've always like the gold paint treatment on these early 289's.

Same engine as the one above it.... at least it don't have a set of "trick flows" on it...
