Ummmmm..... guess maybe I missed it somewhere here...... But I did a search......... Anyone else see the "Parisenne" 1954 Ford RADICAL KUSTOM is up for sale on CL? All dusty and crusty! I mean IMO it's ugly as ORIGINAL SIN...... but, it's a REAL radical Kustom from the 50's. Saw it and INSTANTLY recognized the "rear ended by a cruise ship" styling! I saw that car on the cover of some custom car rag I got in a pile when I was about 10. In fact, I think a group of chicks is sitting in it looking back (view from the rear). Just wow. That's all.
East Coast car from the early 60's. Google Dick Korkes…he had an interesting career. It's funny, but I swear I saw that car somewhere at a show recently, in perfect condition, painted deep blue. Must have been a clone.
You are correct,a gentleman by the name of Joe Sulpy and his son from New Jersey built a clone so I'm pretty sure you did see the car,or at least aversion of it. HRP
Despite my signature, I've always had the same opinion you do. Lots of great work for a questionable result.
I remember that car in the magazines back in the day too. While I can see the amount of work that went into it I still think the only way it could get uglier is if if it got bigger!
What do they want for it? Would be a neat car to clean/detail and preserve exactly as-is. It's a radical custom with a cool history that's never been restored, and that is big points in my book.

It will take a unique individual to aquire and restore this one . Definately will be a labor of love.
I think it was priced at 50K a few years back when it made an appearance in another custom related thread...
I'd drive the shit out of that car. Some of you may not like it, but think of the times, and the crazy cars that were being built, especially on the East Coast. I remember being in awe of all the cool customs that were in the East Coast little books that I started buying in 1962, when I was 10 years old. Maybe one of you genius custom experts should buy it, maybe put some Briz bumpers on it, or better yet, paint all the chrome. Like it or not, these builders had big balls. I salute them, see my sig.
Yup it's is not a surprise that there a fewer and fewer custom car guys on this site these days as the shit talking seems to have become the norm on custom threads.
Personally I have always liked customs, not every one hit the Holy Grail status in the custom world but not every hot rod can claim to a place in history. This car is a little out there but consider the time period it was constructed and the fact that someone liked it enough to spend a small fortune cloning it. This car is indicative of the styles but in the 50's and 60's. HRP
I have the original 1954 Parisienne and will be selling it and all other kustom cars in an estate sale I will be handeling in late January or early Feb 2018. This is owned my a gentleman that worked for George Barris in the 60's and built the Batmobiles.
Here's some well put together history on this custom from another great resource Kustomrama https://kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Richard_Korkes'_1954_Ford https://kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Richard_Korkes Thanks for sharing this with the Hamb @Melissa Taylor...as alluded please update with Estate Auction info as it is arranged. I extend belated condolences to the Korkes Family and friends on the passing of Richard...a talented craftsman he was indeed. Credit to Photographers, Owners
If you're referring to the B&W photo above, that's a 'middle' version. This car was worked over multiple times, the color pics are the 'final' version. IMO it didn't improve with the mods....
You are certainly correct it has had a multi faceted build stage and it will probably appear much as to OP posted when it is offered and it is interesting that it appears as there may be others in the Auction...I've referred to Kookie a bit lately and this is a sign of the changing times and a capsule. https://kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Richard_Korkes'_1954_Ford Credit to Photographer, Owner
