Technical Rim/tire size

    1958 GMC 1/2 ton truck bone stock suspension 6 lug - currently P215/75R15

    What is the biggest wheel tire combo i can use without issues? Wanting to get new tires & rims.

    Looking at the chrome steelies / wide white wall tires

    you might be able to fit 275/60R15 on the back, with 8" or 8.5" wide wheels, with the right back spacing.

    measure first!

    also measure the front to make sure the tires won't hit the tie rod ends.

    but if you're putting whitewalls on it, then pretty much any normal size tire will fit.

  5. L78-15 is a decent size rear tire, if you are using bias ply, I don't know what that would correspond to in radial

    I have 215/70-15 on front & 255/70-15 on rear (29” tall) of my ‘56 3100 and no rubbing
