Does the current Gunfighter still use FE power?

Saw Chet McFallo run a few times at Mission City. Put on a great show.
This car sold a couple years ago for $803,000.00.

The current owner contacted me a while back, and I connected him with a buddy of mine that traveled with Chet in those days. The result was, he was furnished with many pictures, newspaper articles, and an original Cobra Racing Team shirt. The car was shipped over here from Germany (it's current home) and brought to my buddy's house. They took it to Woodburn for a photo shoot, and made some passes down the track. All made possible by the HAMB !!!!

  7. Mine and two of my friend's from Knox City, Texas. Glen Large has been a life long collector of 57 Fords, has a museum called '57 Heaven in Knox City. lol, it's only open when he feels like being there. The black and white one he eloped with his wife in back 20180817_10.JPG 20180817_18.JPG 20180817_27.JPG in the early 60's. He unfortunately had to put her in a nursing home a few years back because she required more care than he could provide. He drove her there in that car, and still takes her for a ride on Sundays in it. The pics were taken at the "summers Last Blast" in Vernon Texas this past August.

Is there a nicer looking '57 Ford around? I think you'd be hard pressed to find one.
From the photo, the color is just right. I'm digging what looks like a reversed early
    '80s Mustang hood scoop.

  11. Wow, I'm gonna get a fat head, there's lots of great '57's on this thread. Thanks a ton, I think I'll have those last two posts blown up poster size, lol.
Sky Six: we obviously have similar tastes.........yours is one of my favorite Fairlanes. I love everything about yours.
We use to do Phoenix twice a year, but our relatives there passed away two years ago, and haven't been back since the car was finished. I'm missing all the car related goings on there, hope to do a road trip with the '57 back there next year. Maybe someday we can get a pic of our cars side by side at the Pavilion Cruise!!
Quick 85: Yep, '83 Mustang GT hood scoop. I wanted something subtle, and I felt that worked great. As to the "reversed".......I bought the scoop in OKC, already pulled from the donor car. After I got it, I googled '83 GT's to see which way it mounted on the Mustangs. Found pics of 12 GT's, exactly 1/2 had the scoops cowl induction facing, like I did mine, so I'm not sure which was factory specs.

Love the car - even though it has the scoop!

  26. 20181217_160150.jpg When I was in high school I rotated driving between my dads 58 Ford custom and my mothers white Cadillac that's parked on the other side of the blue pickup.
20181217_160224.jpg This is the same 58 custom from the first pic several years later. Daily driver. 390/4spd.
20181217_160240.jpg Same car several years later and after being sold twice. This was taken in Salina, Ks. during the KKOA Spectacular in 05. Clogged fuel filter. After suffering a minor engine fire. not long after returning from this trip, the car now resides under a large magnolia tree with the hood half open. I've talked with the current owner and I'm planning a rescue for it.

  27. 20181217_160302.jpg Right out of high school I built this Fairlane. It was actually purchased as a parts car for the red and black Custom 300 but turned out to be a pretty decent car so I put a 390/c4 in it and drove the hell out of it. I eventually stripped it to build a 57 2dr Fairlane that never got finished. I sold this car, bought it back, and a few months ago I sold it back to the guy that bought it and sold it back to me lol.
