    Them look warm.....:)

  3. I ordered one of the black ones when Ryan first offered them, I have had a lot of watch caps/stocking caps and beanies over the years but this one is the best one I have ever had.

Your old melon & ears will appreciate it this winter. HRP

It's called a Toque! Get it right! It's pronounce "toook" for all your southern boys!

  9. As nouns the difference between toque and beanie. is that toque is a type of hat with no brim or toque can be (canadan) a knitted hat, usually conical but of varying shape, often woollen, and sometimes topped by a pom-pom or tassel while beanie is a cap that fits the head closely, usually knitted from wool.

Us Southerners know the difference. HRP

  10. In Canada a beanie is a toque. There is no difference. Other styles of knit hats are also called toques but a beanie would still be known as a toque.

Maybe I'll let my wife stick this one in a Christmas package and "surprise" me. Or maybe I'll just tell here she got it for me.
I had to add on a 1946 Calendar too as that was the year I was born.

I hate to say it HRP but K13 is correct. Guys that wear toques with pom poms on top get taken out back and get "dealt with" :D

  15. You guys have a different language, there still beanies here in the States.

I apologize for the spelling faux pas, not only did I misspell Canadian but failed to capitol the country, I suppose my beanie was too tight! :D HRP

Years ago, many years ago, we would make beanies from an old fedora. It had the edges cut with points and they were folded up. Then we would decorate them with different ad type pins. Something like Jughead from the Archie comics wore. Can someone find a picture of Jughead with his beanie?

As far as I know there is a difference between a toque and a beanie.

A toque will sit on your head and is made so that even when you pull it down over your ears there still may be extra above the top of your head as well as the point where that wonderful pom pom is attached.

Along with that a toque pulled down fully and unrolled can actually completely cover your face.

The beanie however is smaller and designed to fit snugly to the shape of your head with not much extra maybe none, usually just enough to warm your ears and definitely no pom pom. :D

I'm a beanie type guy as is my hero Jason Statham. :D

You might get more interest if you also listed it as a "watch cap"
