Car # 709 was driven by the late Jimmy Griggs. The picture is from 1962 at Nashville Tn Fairgrounds . I believe Griggs was the track champion that year. Car # 707 was Herb Lewis Car # 42 was "Crash Bond"

  10. Seeing the horses brings back a memory for me.
I don't know how many of us are left, but when I was working a summer job in a logging camp in the BC interior at the age of 16 (1956), my job was to skid logs to the landing using a team of draft horses. They were huge, old, and experienced, and more than a little cranky when they thought I was commanding them to do what they didn't think they should be doing.
I had never worked with large animals before, but I got to love them. They knew when they were being treated right.

If it's Ney St. in San Francisco, it's one of the coastal ranges.

There's another Ney St. that turns up in Houston TX, though.

  14. The 1959 Cadillac Cyclone was Harley Earl’s last concept vehicle before his retirement in 1958.

Took the Grouse Mountain tram in the early 80's, breathtaking!

  21. Yeah, that was a spectacular ride. The old way up the hill, in the 60s, to go skiing, was a two chair lift ride. I never get tired of the view. My daughter lives in North Van with a view of Grouse Mountain and the Lions, and I never get tired of it.
I live half way up on Vancouver Island, and it is too bad I don't have an old picture of a car on the Comox Glacier. On a pretty day, it is almost spiritual. On a crappy day like today, I need gum boots, a hope and a prayer (lotsa rain).
