I’m sure I missed it somewhere but what wheel base did this end up at? Looks great I love it.

95”. Handles like a go cart, and rides better than my S 10.

Hibernation is for bears. If given the opportunity, be a driver. It's much more fun. I was out looking for a large Christmas display, but I guess a snowy background will have to do. [IMG]

Also had a couple of artist friends collaborate on a logo. I think it turned out pretty cool.

I am hoping January and February are as compliant. Hoping to drive that little car at least once a month until warmer weather and then put a ton more miles on it before May.

I don't mind driving the old cars in the snow, so long as there isn't salt mixed in.

  15. If insurance would let me, I'd drive my '30 winter too. But has to settle with my '67 Volvo 221.

Driving a roadster in the snow does equal man! Even deeper respect from me!

Great to see both the roadster and Doug this weekend at Retro Rewind in Dubuque.

I bought 3 chances to win......everyone else should as well.

This is one bitchin little roadster.

  17. I too got to meet Doug at Retro Rewind. Cool guy and cool car! Going to be bringing cash to Torque Fest for a bunch of chances to win this beauty. What a nice thing to build a car and then give it away for a good cause. Glad I got to meet and shake your hand Doug.

  19. X2 Tim however I’m not sure why you are planning on driving my new car home! Ha Ha Hobo Jim

Tell you what, you win it and I’ll drive it home and keep it safe until BenD comes up and hauls it to New York for you. Lol

SO this whole thing has been a story of why the hell not. So I just registered the Chari-T for the Lone Star Roundup. In the name of fundraising insanity, I am going to set up a pledge page to help raise money along the way. Total trip will be over 2000 miles. I sure hope the weather doesn't suck. See ya in the Lone Star state. route 1.jpg route 2.jpg

Well I had hoped to drive it to Bonneville last year but I had just gotten it done and logistics didn't work out. This is about 300 miles shorter but should still prove the point that this was built to drive.

Just found this in the vintage thread posted by Rootie Kazoootie. Reminds me of your fine build.

So I started another thread to chronicle the journey that will be my last great adventure with this little jalopy before I pass it along to the new owner. Its called Chari-T Roadtrip To The Lone Star Round Up

Thanks Loudbang. I say this was built to drive and drive it I have. 3000 miles since I got back from Speedweek in August. I can only hope whoever wins this thing keeps the odometer spinning at a ridiculous rate. Hagerty laughed at me when I said I would drive it between 8-10,000 miles a year.
