Not sure how you did it, but good job saving what could be saved. Glad you were able to salvage some stuff and it didn't turn into a nightmare.

  7. Well i was up since 5 am friday, went to work, got off at 4:30,called the guy, offered him 500 for the parts and for him to worry about the rest.
He agreed, he says he might give it to friend for storage.
I called up my buddy(hamber also) hamz52, told him we're gonna skip mooneys to get some parts and he agreed.
Called hamber tred, told him i was gonna bailed on him for the show, he said"go fetch those parts"
Loaded the tacoma around 7pm,gas axe, portable band saw, grinder with 10 cutoff wheels, makita reciprocating saw, 6 blades, extention cord, BF hammer, prybar, bunch of hand tools, backpack with cordless drills, drill bits, 6 pack of blue moons, 2 chairs, 4 waters, gloves, safety glasses, 2 extra tires for a 4x6 trailer, shit load of straps etc.

My exwife dropped my son,we laid in bed talking minecraft, told him i needed some rest for the drive/work,he said ok.

He kept me awake till midnight,i took a 10 minute nap, he woke me up giggling with his videos, i stayed awake not wanting to miss my 1am driving start.

I took off from las vegas at 1 am,
    Foggy half the way through.
dropped him off at his grandparents around 4 am, kept driving to Victorville, picked up Hamz52.
Drove to pomona, talked to the seller, gave me a chance to look it over to see if i still wanted it, i was so tired I couldn't back up from the deal.
Handed him the money and realized that was the exact moment I fucked up.

    No turn around.
We looked like 2 hard pipe hitting wiggers working on the van there, with a couple of "sawsalls" and a pair of vicegrips, we went medieval on its ass.
Had Micky Ds and coffee around 8am, beer around 10..
Left the guys place around 2.
Ate awesome taco burgers in victorville around with hamz52,staryed driving north around 4pm.
Got to the inlaws around 6..
Talked to them saw my son took a shower then went to sleep around 9.
    Woke up around 7 am.
Unloaded the stuff there.. Took off to vegas around 120..got home around 3..
    Would i do it again?
    Hell no.. .
    Well maybe IMG_20181208_102934.jpg

It took about 215 fucks,106 dammits,59 sonof a bitches,1 "fuck me running you dumb shit"when i broke the passenger glass.
Thankfully 1 had a spare and used it when i unloaded by myself.

Btw the van is way bigger than mine and not really sought after.
The roof is fiberglass so no cool van coulda been made outta it.
Used to be a ups truck at one point.

Good story, glad you did it. Also very glad that the seller was cool with you leaving the rest. That was really the sticking point, hate to ditch the rest with the seller if he doesn't want it, but since he was cool with it, that's what needed to be done and you made it happen. Well played.

Glad it worked out and you got the parts you wanted.

Around here by me many scrappers tend to not take vehicles anymore because the titles need to be in your own name now when you scrap a vehicle or what looks like a vehicle. if the vehicle isn't in your name then you need to have the owner with you that it is registered to when you bring it in.

Scrappers don't fight over vehicles , fridges, air conditioners or anything else that contained freon here anymore. Not the easy grab and bring it in whole job anymore.

  12. Yeah.
I talked to a few scrappers on friday.
One said he woulndt have a problem since hes licensed.
I passed the number to the seller in case he changes his mind.

How so? And do you still feel that way now, after you have the parts, are back home and are well rested?

  14. It was a jest.. To make the story a bit more colorful..
But i did have a moment where i told myself "fuck it,figure it out as we go"

I was gonna sell the parts to make some of my dough back but i think id like to have a 10'x10' yard art or bedroom art.
