It was too far away to identify, and I was driving, so no pictures, but a turquoise and white 50s shoebox was on a car hauler going the other way.

The black one was Goodguys Gary Meadors 40 coupe before he passed away.
I saw it in Des Moines a few years back, notice the windshield, appears to be from a convertible.
BTW, there are many more differences between the 39 and 40’s we haven’t even touched on.;):D

Not today, but a couple of weeks ago I was driving towards Tombstone, Az. and saw 30 to 40 T-buckets coming from Tombstone. Quite a sight. Wanted to turn around and follow them but was towing my camper. There was still one at Tombstone when we got there. Sorry, no pics, but it did happen.

    Hello,
One day, we were out looking for this converted taco shop that had rave reviews about the type and quality of food being served in South San Clemente. We found out that it was popular in that the menu was very different than most local restaurants.

Not a standard taco shop, but, now, a family restaurant. It was a little on the expensive side, but worth it. It was across the street from an all-summer long, hot rod gathering at another, classic, old 50’s restaurant.

On the way back up PCH Highway 1 through the town, we saw this nice looking 1952 black, Ford Hardtop sitting in a gas station. It had the look of just stopping for some gas, although the business is now, a converted, car repair station. Everything about it said “Cruising the 50s,” stock appearance, wide whitewalls, 2 door hardtop, cool hubcaps, and a shiny black paint job, etc.

  15. It was a beautiful day yesterday. So wanted to take a cruise in the delivery. I ended up visiting an old friend. He's building this cool 30 Dodge coupe. He's looking for a 440 for it! :) RON..... 20181204_072106.jpeg 20181204_072133.jpeg 20181204_072229.jpeg

  16. That is a 1931 Dodge Brothers DH6 coupe....not a 1930. The 1931 has the top cowl vents. the 1930 has the side cowl vents. Here is a 1930....taller than the 1931, too. The 1930 has no raised molding on the quarter panels. 1930 Dodge Brothers DD6 coupe.jpg

  18. Yes he has. But at least he is driving it around instead of it sitting home under the covers.

I have no idea where to put this. I see a future mild custom, a nice daily driver, a cool something. 20181116_191505.jpg 20181116_191543.jpg

Neat little pickup at the Rocket open day, (yesterday). Plenty of traditional rods, but most have been posted on this forum before.

Clem, you should have been cheeky and asked Russ to take you for a spin. That pickup handles like a rally car.
    Almost stained undies good.

Its a car that is the only one that I have seen that I will say is an improvement on Henry Fords original .
Just looks so much better than a stock pickup.
I would like to know more about it.
    Thanks
    Clemens

My wife and I checked out the Garage Built motorcycle show last week Saturday. This was parked outside when we got there:

181201 Garage Built Show_1001.JPG Flathead power, apparently.

On the way back we encountered this '36 in traffic. Snapped out of the back of the Uber:

    Hey LBCD,

Nice photos of that big Lincoln in that Lowe’s parking lot. Maybe the owner was practicing for this past Saturday, Dec. 8, early morning show and tell at the Donut Derelict’s, weekly car show in Huntington Beach.

    WOW, what a coincidence...!
Say, that isn’t your new car is it? It definitely is cool, if it happens to be your new car!!! An early Christmas present, perhaps?

You see the nicest old cars in So Cal at all hours of the day. That Phaeton would be so cool, driving down PCH to check out the surf and stopping for a nice breakfast at Woody’s Diner just down the highway.

Nope not mine. I waited a few minutes hoping the owner would be walking back to his car, but no one showed. Think it was Friday so the guy lives in my area possibly. That Lowe’s property used to be the Los Altos drive in.

I was walking my dog the other day around the neighborhood. I see the guy that lives directly behind me and was outside of his house doing yard stuff. I have lived next to this guy since 96 but he is mellow and keeps to himself which is fine. So We met 20 years ago but have not talked since and I have 6 big trees on our back wall for privacy.

So I strike up a conversation with Him for about 20 min and we are just blabbing about life when I ask him about his Elco parked in front of his house. I say is that the car I hear you start up every so often? He says “Nope” that car you hear is his 30 Ford coupe that’s sitting In his backyard and has had it for some years now. [IMG]So just now I took a pic over my back wall and there it is!
