I don’t think we’re gonna make it with dads to Aiken. We’re thrashing but there’s still a lot left to do. Starting on the engine tomorrow. All the machine work is done all we have to do is assemble it.

In theory it should be good. Might wanna pull the center out to change the gear ratio or something though.

We pulled the big block out of the 57 and put it over in the 55, and put the small block over in the 57. For 2019 dad will be taking over the Home Grown 57 Chevy in C gas, and I’ll be moving up to A gas in the 55 with the big block. Big changes for the upcoming season but we believe we’ll have our greatest chance for success with both cars this way. We made a front plate for the bbc to fit in the 55 and the headers from the 57 will fit with a little work until we build a nicer set later on.

Dad got some seat time in it and done really well. Now that it’s pretyy much ready for the season opener we’re back wide open on the 55 so I can run it in A this coming season. We made the billet aluminum spacers for the 55 today. Same mounts work with a bbc and a sbc now. Gotta finish up the clutch linkage next and then it’ll be time to put the firewall in.

Works well too. Gotta hook up a throttle pedal and then we can throw the rest of the tinwork in. Car is getting closer and closer.

You'll probably want to add a couple gussets to the cross shaft.
    Then your done.

Got the seat brackets on the drivers seat so we can tilt the seat back, up, or raise/lower the seat. Also got another master cylinder on the car, this one clears the valve cover and is lighter and looks better. And we put the tunnel ram on it and it clears well without running a good scoop. This car is gonna turn out nice I believe.

Got the rear springs in today. Got them on, and got my Strange Double adjustable shocks on. Gonna have to paint the shocks and a few things to make them SEGA legal, but I think this car is gonna work great.

Thanks! Yeah we didn’t intend on this, but as light as the car ended up being, we figured it should be in A gas instead of in C with 500lb of ballast. Especially since the sbc dad had built fit the 57s weight in C. Plus it’s a reall docile and well handling car so dad feels more comfortable driving it to start out where he’s been out of driving for close to 30 years.

Also started on the new headers. They’re gonna look good once they’re finished.

Thanks! Gotta cut the primaries off to the right length, and get the collectors tacked in tomorrow.

The way they come out of the heads straight like that, it’s almost like a hemi. Really digging how they’re turning out.
