Technical How's this thing work.

This is a Sun "engine speed control" tool/fixture. Does anyone have directions for one, have experience with one, or know how/where it's applied to the throttle/carb?

I'm guessing it attached somewhere and pulls on the throttle?

 

My guess is over the years there have been so many gimmick tools, that one just to hold throttle open wherever it's set to.
Stashed away I have some old 60s-70s catalogs loaded with similar things, seems handy then gathers dust.

I'd keep it safe by covering it up with a mirror muff if I were you!!

I hope they remembered to suggest turning engine off before setting it to wide open throttle!
