Projects 1953 Mercury Monterey VIN decoder help!

I just bought a 1953 Mercury Monterey and I need some help decoding the body specification code on the serial number plate. Mine reads;

34-367-17M-106

I’d like to know the original paint color(s) and interior color(s).

Can anyone help?

Sweet Ride. Can’t help with the vin decode, but, on mine the trunk is red. Under the fenders were red, and by sanding through all the different layers of paint we can kind of tell which colors were painted over the other colors. We believe mine came from the factory in red. What are you plans for this beauty?

 

It is supposed to have a fresh rebuild on the flathead, so I’d like to get it running and driving first, then kinda pick at it until it appears stock, but drives and rides like a newer car.

34 is the paint code
367 is the trim code
17M is the prod. date (17th of Dec)
106 is a time code for the production plant.
If you ask on the Ford Barn you will probably get the specific info you want, I don't have the color code chart, so I can't give any more info than that.

 

34 India Black/Yosemite Yellow
367 Yellow/Black
