    When you don't mind atomizing fuel prior to sucking it into a hot scroll. I ran a turbo bike setup in the 80's like this... I was always a bit uncomfortable with the possibility of detonating the turbo... which was a couple of inches below my crotch. I spent a LOT of time and money pioneering a Haltech-based injection system to get the turbo in the right place in the sequence. Much better all around.
