I can't help you, but I thought I'd tell a short story. There used to be a very small (maybe 20 vendors) pre-war swap in northern Iowa that my brother and I would attend a decade ago. We picked all kinds of good stuff from the old restorer dudes. One time I was haggling with a vendor and a fella with a weird accent came up and bought the stuff without haggling. I wasn't too hurt, and asked where he was from. We had a short introduction/conversation, and it turns out he was the Kiwi Quickchange guy. Halfway around the world from his home, buying rusty early Ford parts. He gave me his card, but I doubt I could find it now.

Ha, I resent the "weird accent" comment.

Derek Thomason is/was the Kiwi Quickchange guy. I talked to him a month back and he told me Terry Willis in Australia has bought the Quickchange stuff from him. He is on here with manifolds etc in the classifieds, Elco Heads.

Just remember , half of these "Hillbilly's" would be bi-lingual if they learnt to speak English :p:D

I hope I emailed the right guy.

  12. Derek is on here.
Haven't talked to him in a few years, and didn't know he had sold the biz.

  13. I was visiting friends in Nelson New Zealand a while back, I pedaled a bike over to Dereks home and got a great tour of his projects. I looked at his quick change and like it The pinion support was a bit stronger looking than my early 201 Culver City. It appears stronger than the 201. The rear cover is slightly bigger than the 201. Seems that the price at the time was a great deal and wonder why it is not more popular? My 201 has had a repair at the pinion but with a two carb flathead I will not overload it.
Nice Quick change and the rear cover looks great!

    from Australia

I suspect these may not have been popular due to having to ship them from New Zealand?

If the new owner is on the HAMB could you advise how much these will retail for in Australia? I did look at them once before but balked at trying to import one.

    Cheers

Yeah, shipping ‘killed’ lots of deals !
Solution...just have owner bring the item with, when he flies to attend swap meet near me...ha !
The past owner (Derek) did just that for my model A QC, on one of his parts buying jauants. !
