  1. Working on the rear kick up on the frame.

    20180919_123900_Film3.jpg

Normal the top is parall to the frame.
This would mean the rear seat would need to be raised at the frount to make it comfortably(flat seat is not).
I may run the top of the kick up down 2" at the rear.
This wouldn't also slope the rear seat down at the back 2" giving more head room.

    20180919_123917_Film3.jpg

    20180919_123855_Film3.jpg

3"X3/16 band used for trans tunnel sloped on drivers side so I have a little more room for the gas pedal.

    20180921_121407_Film3.jpg

Welded the body mounts to the frame and pulled the body.

    20180921_121403_Film3.jpg
    Got the frame level again
    20180921_135956_Film3.jpg
Installed the kick up got them squared up and level
    20180921_140003_Film3.jpg
Now need to weld them.the top of the kick up runs down hill 2"for them seat bottem

  3. I seam to go thru a lot of 1/4"plate.

    20180926_105600_Film3.jpg
Air bag mounts are nothing fancy just simple pc cut from 1/4"steel
    20180926_134620_Film3.jpg

    Lower mounts installed
    20180926_134657_Film3.jpg

  4. I know not very traditional but I want it low and our roads suck

    20180927_104114_Film3.jpg

    Bags on

    20180927_104021_Film3.jpg

About 7" of travel that should save the belley pan from fretting beat up on the street

  5. I have been slacking off 3 week vacation now time to get back to the MODEL A.

    20181019_125013_Film3.jpg

So far Everthing but 1/2" of the master clyinder bracket is above the frame.

    20181019_125914_Film3.jpg

Rear kick ups are in and body back on frame so I can do the subframe under the seat.
Also go the u support for the rear axle to trave in installed.

    20181019_130034_Film3.jpg

Better shot of the u there 2"x1/4".

20181019_125836_Film3.jpg Need floor under seat yet. Lots of wielding and trimming to do once Everthing is fit.then blow it apart clean up the brackets.finish the welds.bead blast and paint.

    20181019_125253_Film3.jpg

    Another shot of the u

    20181019_125904_Film3.jpg

  6. More of that cut-fit-welding going on.

    20181024_131516_Film3.jpg

Using 11ga sheet metal to fill floor. Resesing it 1/4" for the sound dreading and Dynamate.

  7. As I said in the beginning I would work on it about 2 hr a day 14 hr each week to see just how long it takes to build.I have had a vacation and spent 20 days in mn with family problem. Just like everyone runs in to.
Now I'm back and working the floors.
    20181110_134758_Film3.jpg

I'm cutting 12ga inserts to fit in side the 1x2 tubing . way heavier then it needs to be but I know it will last 100years and if I get in an accident it's that much safer.

    20181110_130047_Film3.jpg
There getting welded in solid from the top only.
    20181111_134555_Film3.jpg

Just as you get going we all seam to run out of parts. I ran out of 12ga so on to the tunnel it is 14ga which is the heaviest I can do with my brake.
I will mark the loops and drill holes to spot weld the tunnel to the loops.
I will also weld the bottem of the tunnel solid to the 1x3 tubing

  8. Building the floor under the rear seat.
    Lots of boaring work.
    20181114_132408_Film3.jpg
There will be 2 body mounts at the rear
    20181114_132445_Film3.jpg
Sides will get welded to the tubs
    20181114_132428_Film3.jpg
And braces will go down to the u the axle rider in in the tubs
Hopfule I can pack a battery, air tank, sway bar, shocked, and panhard rod under the rear seat it will be tight.

Hmm if the roads suck and you're worried about flexing/cracking...right now it appears as if the entire rear clip is held on by just the wall thickness of your tubing??... I'm sure you're just at the mock up stage and intend to properly cut 45's, fully butt weld, and diamond plate over the rear kickup joints ...

  11. Kikups are at 30deg they are just tacked they will get fishplated when I weld the chassis up.
I was worried abouts around clearance we have 4" ballad (nobs/lane dividers)plus speed bumps 3" tall and 24 " wide the with of the street. So ground clearance is a problem around here that's the reason for the bags. There should be no flex or twist when done. Main rails are 2x4x1/4"

  12. Getting closer need rear kick up and fire wall yet then I can move on.

  22. Same old story cut weld grind.

    20181125_132904_Film3.jpg

I will us the stock fuel tank I am going to move the sediment/fuel filter to the drivers side since the fuel pump on the yblock is on the drivers side.
    20181125_125353_Film3.jpg

Bolted in the top like ford did it. I left 1/4" of the stock fire wall on the car and welded the new fire wall to it.
That way it can come out in the future if needed.
    20181125_133520_Film3.jpg

    Adding some bracing for strength.
The comers will be rebuilt with 1x2 tubing.

  23. Structer back in on driver side

    20181126_125037_Film3.jpg

Structure made out of 1x2 tubing

    20181126_125100_Film3.jpg

  24. 20181128_122120_Film3.jpg
Same thing on passanger side some 1x2 x14gtubing.

    20181128_124029_Film3.jpg
    Plate over it with 11g

    20181128_135339_Film3.jpg
A little grinding and the front Conner are done. Now to the flaired/curved trans tunnel

  25. Well the fire wall has been a pain but its done now and then engine is back in.

These model A body to bumper brace brackets are easy to find, drill out the rivet and one bracket does both cowl sides...
they will work like the '33 - '34 pick ups do... vvvvvvxxxx.jpg

  27. You fight with stuff and think you have it all figured out.
    Wrong
Got to put the brake pedal, clutch pedal and trans fork in place to work out the z-bar .just not enough room. The brake arm hits the clutch fork.

    20181214_105536_Film3.jpg

    20181214_110140_Film3.jpg
So how do you fix it?.
Me I went with a duel master clyinder set up like we use on stock cars with a balance rod. 1" bore for frount brakes 7/8" for the rear.
The balance rod allowes you to adjust the system like a adjustable properation valve.
Clutch is 7/8" master clyinder and 7/8" push slave clyinder with 1.4 " travel.
They will be floor mount pedals with master clyinder out side.
Good thing is more room to run the exhaust.
The bad I have to modify the new fire wall

    I'M BLEEDING MONEY NOW!
I did not have any thing like this laying around but nothing $400 dollar won't fix good thing it's christmass

  28. So I get cash for Christmas and decided to spend it on a 32 grill and shell$200 for China grill will work for me.
    20181218_122911_Film3.jpg

It fit the radiator I bought last year.
Other then shipping damage looks good.
    20181218_120738_Film3.jpg

Now it has to go back and Hopfull FedEx won't let the rain dear play on the next one
