  4. Condolences to all the Foose family. Sadley, another builder-fabricator-customizer is gone. Fortunately he passed his volumes of experience and ability along to his son. RIP Sam.

R.I.P Sam, met him and his 48 Coupe back in the 70’s at the Klosed Car Campout in Santa Barbara. Super nice guy he will be missed.

My Dad and I 'showed' at San Jose Autorama in '74 with Sam (Dad's '29 roadster & Sam's '48 Custom)
Visited with him a few more times, to 'coin a phrase': "I always thought I'd see him again..."
Godspeed, Sam. Condolences to Chip and family.

  16. Truly one of the greats. I see styling tricks of Sam and Chip copied on other shows and you couldn't ask for a classier example of customizing in his works if left to his own decision making. We are so thankful for his contributions to our hobby and Christian example. He will be sorely missed! RIP, Sam. Carry on Chip..........

Sam was not in the limelight as much as his son but just as talented. There is something about genes inherited. R.I.P. Sam and condolences to the family.

As the "old timers and inventors" of this hobby pass, it's always a sad affair. But, as long as guys look at what they did, and take it with them in their builds, they will continue to live on. Life has all kinds of uncertainties, and "speed bumps", along the way. As long as we remember those before us, and remember what they contributed, this hobby of ours will never "die"; and that I think, is what THEY would want. Cruise on Sam, cruise on. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
