I changed out a original 1940 Ford Coupe tank - set years with crudded up old gas and flakes. Got the original tank out OK - but tight. Bought new repo - Drake stock metal tank - had to take a 6 inch 50 grit grinder to the sides and trim slightly - then took a thin body shop bumping spoon to slide it past the frame rail. Repo fit little tighter than the original.

  9. yep, tire spoons will help pry it out and in.

  10. There have been some threads about this in the past with some tips. Do a quick search. I'm too lazy.

What he said--orig will come out easier than new one will go in-follow his advise-repo tanks need a little adjustment as he mentioned-both Drake and Tanks
