I've wanted to build one of these for as long as I can remember. Figured now was as good a time as any. P_20181104_140407_HDR.jpg P_20181111_141355.jpg I took measurements off of the Tom Daniels Paddy Wagon kit and changed a couple of things to make it my own.

I'm very intrigued, as one of these has also lurked in the back of my head for a long, long time. Subscribed..

They were sort of popular in the early 70s....basically a T bucket with a different body.

    should be fun!

    Neat! Nice wood work.
Refreshing throw back. Makes me wonder how many old C Cab rods are collecting dust in garages.

    I've pictured this 27 as a hot rod. unnamed-2.jpg

The original ones I have seen had steel sheeting, but wood roofs and framework

Dan Woods Milk Truck was finished in 1965, that is the earliest one I can think of. If you are thinking of a 1970's Andy's instant T inspired street rod build then it will absolutely be off topic here

Would it be on topic if it had earlier wheels, proper tail lights, and was painted gloss black?

Mark, it will be mix of 60s style Show Rods. Pie crusts on 5 spokes, 16in. Hallcrafts up front. Rear suspension will be based off of the Boothill Express. Kind of a Chuck Miller, Ray Fahrner, Carl Casper mashup. With a little Tom Daniels in the mix. Screenshot_20181103-153757.jpg Screenshot_20180923-074501.jpg Screenshot_20180923-074856.jpg

I have considered one several times, It is a way for us big boys to still be comfortable in a T.

I had the body that JD Fikes built in the mid 70's in my garage for a while after he built the 27 T roadster with the 55 Chevy turtle deck body he put on the frame to take it to Memphis in about 1975. All wood except the T cowl and with no doors it was a scary ride.
I'd say that this is where you go with the " it looks like it could have been built in the late 50's or early 60's" rather than the "is this body style traditional"? With the right engine and engine decoration, proper wheels and tires and proper trim why not?

Always thought about building one myself, in fact considered it before my model A project but couldn't find good dimensions to build off of.

One of these and a t bucket still on the todo list.

I would like to follow the basic build. I think when you get to the finish details you are probably going to cross the 1964 line. A lot of us 60 era "KIDS" have found memories of a lot of the cars posted, but most where built after the H A M B cut off.:( I have often dreamed the same dream! Show us what you can! Larry
