    Taken in late 1957 at Point Chevalier ,Auckland.

    These were to become the Auckland Saints M/C [1958-61] after the Cops had finally broken up the Rebels M/C [1949-57]

    I'm visiting dad in the nursing home today. When I see all the older women in their 80's+, I could only imagine what their youthful beauty was possibly like. I thought of all the women pictured in this thread for a moment and it gave me a new appreciation for those I met and saw today.

    It is a visual aid for the driver to see where his/her fender is when parallel parking downtown. I guess that if you were a short driver and had difficulty seeing over the high hood of your car, this add-on gave you guidance. I think it is misplaced and should be further forward to be effective. Like other functional (?) add-on do-dads, the functionality of the accessory sometimes gave way to the aesthetic appeal of having as many options on the car as was possible.
