Looks like no one has done this Sunday Model car thread I have nothing new but will show off some of my older ones. hope you all enjoy 49 merc 37 Ford 55 Chevy is just about done.
Wow! This is really nice! Where did You source the interior, glass and wheels? I have that same JF resin body. I´m using the Revell ´59 Skyliner chassis, windshield, bumpers and taillights on mine. I was thinking of making mine just a curbside with side windows of some kind of dark-tinted acetate, but now that I see Yours, that looks real sharp!
Interior is the Revell 59 Galaxie Skyliner, wheels are from the 70 Impala. Glass is clear styrene. this link is for the build...http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=56440&hl=&fromsearch=1 James aka Joker
They sure look good. Some amazing work there! We are actually having a model car display at this years NorCal KnockOut, as well as on NorCal Auto Expo. So, if you wanna bring your cars to our show, you are more then welcome.
I'll try to build something myself. The Li'l Coffin was my dad's that he gave to me when i was about 10 years old, and i've always saved it, halfways built by him in the late 60's.. I think i'll build the shoebox for the show!!
Nice work! Here's a link to the "official" ongoing, Sunday Models thread. Some years back there were a slew of 'Sunday Model' threads. Sometimes people would start a new one each Sunday. Sometimes, several new threads were started on a given Sunday. You'd go back to look at something and couldn't find which Sunday model thread it was in. Back then, I suggested we all stick to one continuous, single thread, similar to other HAMB threads such as "sitting and rotting". It made it easier to page back and find an old post or build. It also allowed someone to post progress updates on their build-sort of like a weekly model club meet. 127 pages strong; https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/sunday-models.869868/page-127
I know its not sunday but a kid at work ask me a question about models. Its been so long since i built one i had to ask for info. He wanted to know,Wasn't there a product that you could paint on to a point, then use regular paint up to that ,then peel off the , i guess masking ? i thought it was but cant remember name of it.Or am i confused. Liquid mask, maybe? did i dream this?
