This annual event is held in a small fishing village/resort town on the east coast about 300 kms from Brisbane. Always attracts a great line up of cars(up to about 65 I think) and this year the numbers were close to 500 cars. The main event is held in a large holiday village with plenty of cruising on the paved roads through the complex. A lot of rodders stay here in the park or in other local motels. A lot are now making it a week long holiday as the area has lots of other attractions. This event always attracts a lot of new cars for their debut. Saturday morning is the big Show N Shine in the center of town and then back to the park for more cruising and beverages. I forgot to pack my camera charger and started using my phone which explains why a few shots have my finger over the edge of the photo. Just a learner!!
Wow ! There are a lot of great cars over there. Some I have seen at Coolangata two years ago. Thanks for posting, so that others can enjoy.
Another lot. They had to park cars up the steep side street that required some of them to use large rocks in place of handbrakes.
Wow indeed, what a wonderful string of photographs. Hot rodding is alive and doing well there, thanks for putting them all up!
I'm sorry to admit that I had no idea you had such great rides down there. Very, very impressive. I wish I could hit the "like" button a couple of dozen times.
VERY nice bunch of rides and thanks for posting. And it's too bad about your "gotta have fenders" law.
Thanks for posting great photos. Almost as good as being there........almost Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Paul, thanks for the event photo coverage. How warm is it there? Our high temp today was 0 degrees C and it's not winter yet! Phil
great photos, thanks for posting. I noticed the 36 roadster has a longer cockpit (or is it the severe chop) a bit like a club cabriolet with rear seats, also the 35 roadster has similar proportions, are these Australian bodies? Gordon.
Belongs to Warren Wilkie who operates Toowoomba Rod and Custom Shop(now with his son Jarrod) and Warren also built my 32 roadster. Warren has a great personal collection including this coupe, a 32 5 window,a 32 roadster and maybe more?? I think this coupe runs a hot 383 Chev.
I was speaking to Richard who owns the 36 roadster and it is original right hand drive so I guess Australian. I think the 35 might also be Aussie original.
Our roadsters were based on the 5W coupe layout, not the 3 window, so are shorter in the catwalk area and have a larger interior.
So many great looking cars I have had to look at this twice...…………….. I might be in love with that silver 55/56 Ford...……..Thanks for posting these
Paul, looks like the 'ol brown turd got in the background of the sun exposed pic of that hiboy 34 5w coupe.........lol..........thanks...........andyd
